Celebrating KO anniversaries became a yearly tradition. It is a get-together for close KO family who chose to support the journey with Odys over many years. Every year uncovers new heights for KO. One of the major highlights in year six is the endorsement by Naka Akira to teach Nakastyle for Odys. To live up to this honor required a mutual effort by KO family to engage kinbaku enthusiasts to participate in newly established Nakastyle Study Group events. We have began developing a curriculum aimed at progressively educating in Nakastyle tormenting rope(semenawa).
While these workshops are mostly aimed at hard skills in tying, we have also started Semenawa Research Group Meetings (SRM) that are focused on the why of nakastyle semenawa. These meetings draw an inspiration from the Semenawa Group Meetings hosted by Naka Akira sensei in Tokyo. We are conducting our meetings with his blessing.
To celebrate KO 6th, we are launching an official kinbakuodyssey website. Here, kinbaku enthusiasts will be able to keep up with our events, book workshops and shop (coming soon) for Ogawa jute (exclusively used by Odys) and other KO merchandise.
As always, I want to conclude by expressing my utmost appreciation to every model who ever trusted me to tie them; and to all my students who believe in my approach to teaching kinbaku. Special thanks goes to my teacher Naka sensei. You are my eternal inspiration. Journey without destination continues…
